The opposite of Jesus-like

is what I'm like -- worldly-like. Wise in my own eyes, leaning on my own understanding. Agendafied. Willful. Confident-I-know-what's-best. Irritated with certain others, feeling superior to them. Circumstance-dependent for my joy and peace. Conditional lover of others, self, Jesus, and His plan for everyone.

LOVE His plan, when things go my way. Love HIM when He gives me what I want -- what my human-wisdom wants. Operating with human-power, not Jesus-power. Seed sown on thorny soil, choked by the cares of this world, unable to reproduce. Claiming to follow Jesus, but really following DAVE as I go through my day, without the benefit of Jesus in THIS life. Except when the Spirit freshly convicts me of the sin of human-wisdom-dependency. Ahhh. Doesn't last long though.
