to get what we want, treating Him as the MagicGenieInTheSky, rather than enjoying intimacy with Him, living and working out of communion with Him as we go through our day. When we reduce our relationship with Him, to Him being OUR servant, trying to direct the CreatorSustainer of the Universe through our prayers, according to our human-wisdom-agenda, we miss out on experiencing the benefit of Jesus in THIS life, operating with human-wisdom and human-power just like any atheist -- wise in our own eyes, leaning on our own understanding. Our prodigal kids don't see any difference between their parents and seculars. And seculars don't see any difference in us, in the self-reliant way we go through our day.
