Jesus-dependency — the Lordship of Jesus in the details of your daily life, as contrasted with human-wisdom-dependency, where you are wise in your own eyes, leaning on your own understanding, circumstance-dependent for your joy and peace, uncurious and unexpectant about what Jesus does NEXT, in you, others, circumstances. When you are human-wisdom-dependent as a Christian, you are to be pitied above all humans — for you have not the benefit of Jesus in THIS life. And worse — you are seed cast on thorny soil that is choked by the cares of this world and does not reproduce.
“Wisdom (Jesus-dependency) is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire compares with her.” Prov 8:11
So, Dave, how do I get Jesus-dependency/wisdom? Whenever you are freshly convicted by the Spirit, of your human-wisdom-reliance, CONFESS your unbelief, your evil, your wickedness. Ahhh. Conviction of sin that leads to CONFESSion, is the starting place for fresh faith. Ahhh. Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus. But it doesn’t last long in MY experience, because of MY human-wisdom, and the human-wisdom of others — especially experts.
