Because my eyes and ears inform my reality, instead of Scripture. My eyes and ears tell me what’s what, and what’s not, and I’m confident-I-know-what’s-best, and other humans are also confident-they-know-what’s best, and so this confidence seems normal, natural, outside the Church and inside too, and so I get bothered, control-freak perfectionist that I am.
News bothers me. Wrong bothers me. Opinion of the opposition bothers me. The success of others bothers me.
Scripture tells me that what’s real, is that my name is written in Heaven, because of Jesus’ work in me, and that DaddyJesusSpirit is totally sovereign over every human, animal, bird, fish, and all of the universe, all at the same time, so I can relax, be curious and expectant to see what He does NEXT, in me, others, circumstances. His show. His Grand Story. Ahhh, amazing peace.
