using us powerfully in ministry can expose how circumstance-dependent we are for our joy and peace. Our human-wisdom wants us successful in every area of our lives. Ministry idolatry sucks the life out of us human-wisdom-dependent Christians. Only Jesus-dependents have a healthy indifference to outcomes. Only the unusually-self-aware even recognize the problem.

Anything we can DO to nurture self-awareness? Pay attention to our thoughts, feelings, reactions, when we're alone and undistracted, hoping the Spirit will EXPOSE to us, our human-wisdom-dependency, so we can CONFESS. Ahhh. The more Jesus makes us dependent on Himself, the more we operate with His power, humility and love, making us more compelling to the seculars around us.
