When I’m not a happy camper,

Updated: Sep 13, 2020

I’m ALWAYS focused on the waves of my circumstances, instead of Jesus. The secondary things in my life have become primary, and the PrimaryThing has become secondary. Whyzat? Human-wisdom-reliance — my human-wisdom and the human-wisdom of others, especially experts. I’ve been snookered into believing a lie — that my life is UP TO DAVE, so I gotta fix myself. And others too.

When my eyes and thoughts are on Jesus — so the biggest deal in my life is my name being written in Heaven, I’m an observer, not a performer. A spectator, not a gladiator. Peaceful, not stressed. Enjoying everyone just as we are, and everything just as it is — all according to the genius plan of Jesus, curious to see how He directs me next.

There He is — behind him, and her, and everyone and everything. Ahhh.

— Dave McCarty, GospelFriendships, not a happy camper, except when freshly convicted of his unbelief in the sovereign reign of Jesus
