The object of my focus,

is what I worship. Focus on circumstances = unhappiness. Focus on Jesus = happiness. When I try to manage my circumstances, my focus is on them, not Jesus. When I try and get Jesus to help me manage my circumstances, I USE Him to get what my human-wisdom wants. Jesus is the MEANS to an end, not the End. When I THANK Jesus for my challenging circumstances, rather than trying to get Him to help me manage them, I am curious/expectant to see what He does NEXT, in me, others, circumstances. Ahhh. Sovereignty-awareness. So peaceful. Taste of Heaven. Jesus-dependency, not human-wisdom-dependency. Seculars can feel the difference -- a different-kind-of humility, and different-kind-of love.
