My flesh HATES being

clueless, and LOVES feeling confident.  HATES being childlike, and LOVES feeling adultlike.  Being clueless is so humiliating, so lowly, so unEvangelical, so unAmerican.  And being confident is so unlike Jesus, who did NOTHing on His own, but only what His Father told Him to do.  Jesus, the first dependent human since The Fall.  And the last.

Thank You, DaddyJesusSpirit, that I imagine myself a follower of Jesus in my less-sane, self-deceived moments, which abound.  Thank You that when I’m freshly sane, I realize what an independent I am, what a failure I am, at following Jesus.

–ShepherdDave, who sees the problem, but is powerless to change himself, needs the Spirit to freshly convict him of the sin of confidence/independence, so he might momentarily be DumbSheepDave, enjoying the bliss of Jesus-dependency/humility, so the pre-believers around him might experience Jesus
