Jesus designs our problems,

challenges, opportunities. Why? So we feel alone, intense, stressed, as we deal with them. Why? So we are desperate for HIM. Otherwise, we live our lives just like any atheist -- alone, in charge, weight of the world on our shoulders. Well, Dave, what if I don't feel the weight of the world on my shoulders? You might have very-little self-awareness -- hardly in touch with your feelings. So busy, focused on the tasks before you, that you ignore what's going on inside of you. Unrecognized-and-therefore-unconfessed sin/idolatry, is the biggest problem in the Church today, in my not-so-humble opinion, and explains why the seculars around us are not drawn to the overflowing Jesus in us. We are seed cast on thorny soil that does not reproduce, because we are choked by the cares of this world. Like ministry idolatry. Vocational idolatry. Relational idolatry. Health idolatry. Investments idolatry. Reputation idolatry. Efficiency idolatry. Frugality idolatry. Somebodiness idolatry.
