If you have an easy life,

you don’t really need to be reminded over and over about the sovereign reign of Jesus over every life and every thing.  But.  If your life is harrrd?  You need much-stronger medicine than a healthy devotional life, especially if you are unusually self-aware — in touch with your feelings.  If you don’t focus on Scripture that clearly teaches the sovereignty and providence of God, and/or listen to sermons on these subjects from say, sermonaudio.com, I don’t see how you’ll survive with any measure of peace and joy.  You’ll face the harrrd circumstances feeling ALONE, and in CHARGE of your life, terrorized by your circumstances, instead of enjoying Jesus, curious/expectant to see what He does NEXT, in you, others, circumstances.
