I'm only discouraged when

I'm like every atheist, confident-I-know-what's-best, wise in my own eyes, leaning on my own understanding -- human-wisdom-dependent, not Jesus-dependent. My human-wisdom thinks it knows what's best for me, those I love, my country, the world. And the Church.

But when the Spirit freshly convicts me of human-wisdom-dependency, I'm momentarily clueless about what would be best, trusting that Jesus DOES, so I'm momentarily curious and expectant to see what Jesus does NEXT in me, others, circumstances, and I momentarily experience the other-worldly peace that has nothing to do with circumstances -- a peace unknown to human-wisdom-dependents, nonChristian AND Christian. And I'm momentarily THANKful for the circumstances my human-wisdom HATES, in my life, and in the lives of those I love, and in my nation, and in the world, and in the Church.
