Only ShepherdDave researches anything, because only ShepherdDave has understanding-idolatry, the primary idol of every independent. Only understanding-idolators experience frustration, anxiety, discouragement. Only understanding-idolators are confident-they-know-what’s-best for themselves and others. Only understanding-idolators have opinions about politics, Church, the world, the Christian life. Only understanding-idolators are pontificators.
Dependents/childlikes like DumbSheepDave are clueless-they-know-what’s-best for self or others. They just enjoy the grass in front of them, curious/expectant about where their ShepherdJesus leads them next. No problems to solve. All future decisions that need to be made, are ShepherdJesus’ problems/decisions. DumbSheepDave has this other-worldly peace that is vastly superior to living under the Curse of understanding-idolatry.
–ShepherdDave, hopelessly addicted to understanding-idolatry, except when the Spirit freshly convicts him of the sin of independence/pride/worldliness, so he might momentarily be DumbSheepDave, enjoying the bliss of Jesus-dependency/humility, so the nonbelievers around him might experience Jesus
