Being efficient seems so noble,

so admirable, such a good thing.  But.  It’s a heavvvy load having an efficiency idol.  Being a perfectionist about efficiency is just the WORST.  Obsessing as much over minutia as I do really-big deals, is worse than being in prison.  It’s a Curse imagining that I know what’ll make me happy.  Those unbothered by such idolatry might snicker, but each Christian has a biggest idol — some of us have more than one biggest idol, and idols suck the LIFE out of us, robbing us of the joy and peace that’s ours in Jesus.  Jesus is not ENOUGH for idolators.  We want something MORE.
