And it’s IMPOSSIBLE to be a news-junkie,

to read or watch the news, with opinions about what’s good or bad, unless I’m confident-I-know-what’s-best. Impossible to have this confidence, without pride — leaning on my own understanding, being wise in my own eyes.  This sin of independence/confidence-I-know-what’s-best goes unconfessed by ShepherdDave, and explains why his joy and peace are so circumstance-dependent, why he is so unfruitful with nonbelievers, because there is no difference between him and them, except for Heaven.

—ShepherdDave, who imagines himself following Jesus, but follows himself, except when freshly convicted by the Spirit, so he’s momentarily DumbSheepDave, clueless-about-what’s-best, trusting his ShepherdJesus to know and lead him accordingly, asking Him about everything and thanking Him about everything and everyone, enjoying the bliss of Jesus-dependency/Jesus-contentment/Jesus-humility, so the nonbelievers around him might experience the love of Jesus
