Adam and Eve were just like us.

After The Fall they were human-wisdom-dependent. They got what they wanted -- INdependency. Just like us. Wise in their own eyes, leaning on their own understanding, no longer so pathetically dependent on Another. Free to be captains of their souls, masters of their fates.

Jesus came, in part, to reverse the effects of The Curse, and model for us humans what dependency looks like. Jesus did NOTHing on His own. We believers do most EVERYthing on our own, just like the atheists around us, so we live mostly without the benefit of Jesus in THIS life. Feeling ALONE and in CHARGE. Weight of the world on our shoulders. Atheists are not compelled by the Jesus in us.
