Achievement is wearisome.

Ministry is wearisome.  Excellence is wearisome.  Everything is wearisome on Planet Earth.  For ShepherdDave.  Whyzat?  Because achievement is a way of proving myself worthy.  Because Jesus and His imputed worthiness is unsatisfying to me when I’m ShepherdDave.  But I live in denial of why I strive for excellence in all things, imaging myself doing good, being good.  Expecting excellence from others as well.  Chief analyst/critic/discerner.  Not chief confessor.  Not chief enjoyer.

“And I saw that all labor and all achievement spring from man’s envy of his neighbor.”  Eccl 4:4
